As Pugen explained in the Q&A at the opening of the Signal and Noise festival in the Animal Mirror program, Utopics was created in several stages. Initially, an faux-infomercial called Aerobia! was created. Government funding allowed Pugen to realize his final project where the members of this Utopic program go on a retreat to “return to nature.”
